Prospect Plant Nursery - A Curated Collection of Exceptional Plants
Plants Worth Knowing About
Prospect Plant Nursery is a small independent nursery set on a working farm near Scarborough, North Yorkshire.
We grow and source plants chosen for their beauty, character and garden performance, building a collection for gardeners who want something beyond the ordinary garden centre experience.
Our range is shaped by horticultural knowledge, years of growing experience and a genuine fascination with plants that earn their place in the garden over time.
We specialise mainly in hardy perennials, alongside a smaller collection of shrubs, alpines and other carefully selected plants. Many are propagated and grown here at the nursery from seed, cuttings or division.
Whether you’re creating a new border, refining an established garden or simply looking for inspiration, we’re here to help you garden more thoughtfully and with greater confidence.
Gardening Knowledge Built Through Experience
Good gardens come from understanding plants properly, not simply buying more of them.
Whether it’s dry shade, exposed coastal conditions, heavy clay or awkward corners that never seem to work, we’re always happy to help you choose plants that genuinely suit your space and how you want to garden.
The nursery is built around years of practical growing experience, thoughtful planting and a belief that gardening should feel rewarding rather than overwhelming.
Growing Beyond the Nursery
Alongside the nursery collection, we also produce seasonal planting schemes, hanging baskets and floral displays for local businesses across the Scarborough coast.
If you’ve admired the displays outside places in Scalby Village or down the seafront in Scarborough, there’s a good chance they were grown by us.
It’s another part of what we enjoy most, helping bring spaces to life through thoughtful planting.
We Dig Plants. You Probably Do Too.
